She can take the papers and her birth certificate to the SS office and to the DMV and get it changed at no cost for the SS and only $10 at the DMV in Texas (if that is where she is). But that is really none of your business and you need to stay out of it.

I’ve never heard of someone being made to legally change their name back to their maiden name…but I think it should be an automatic when people get divorced.
I hate that my husbands ex-wife never changed her name back to her maiden name when they got divorced. She never deserved to have his name to begin with and it’s just a disgrace to his/our family. But there isn’t anything he can do about it. Sucks!

My ex wife kept my last name, just got remarried and still kept my last name and hyphenated it with her new husbands name. Now if that isn’t the craziest thing I don’t know what is. She just can’t let go of the past. What husband would allow a woman to carry another mans name in front of his?
I think once a person gets divorced, they should change their name back to their maiden name. If you hate the SOB so much, why keep his name? My husband’s ex-wife hates him but she keeps his name…just plain STUPID. Get on with your life, do not live in the PAST!! Go find LOVE yourself!!
